The 12th Annual Tennessee Valley Venture Forum (tennvalleyventureforum.squarespace.com)
With a decade-long track record of
connecting capital with regional entrepreneurs, the 12th annual
Tennessee Valley Venture Forum will be held on October 22, 2009 at the
Knoxville Conference Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. This
event will focus on growth-stage companies seeking an equity investment.
For this event, growth-stage companies are defined as being
revenue-generating, growing toward profitability, and preferably having
previously raised a round of outside investment.
No
more than six companies will be selected to make ten minute pitches to
an audience of venture capitalists, angel investors, and service
providers. The deadline for submissions is September 25th, and the application can be found on the Tennessee Valley Venture Forum website http://tennvalleyventureforum.squarespace.com. For more information on the event, please visit the Tennessee Valley Venture Forum website.
ThrottleUp 2009 (throttleup2009.squarespace.com)
ThrottleUp 2009 is a pitch competition focused on seed-stage and early-stage companies from East Tennessee who have
an innovative technology or business model with the opportunity to grow
more than 20% a year and are likely to need other people's money to
fund that growth. The format for ThrottleUp will be an eight
minute pitch followed by a round robin session with six judges who will
provide feedback on the presentation and the business idea. The
winner will represent the East Tennessee Development District in a
statewide competition in front of the newly formed TNInvestco's in
January 2010. For more information on how to apply for ThrottleUp
2009, please visit http://throttleup2009.squarespace.com.
